The Encyclopedia of Female Characters ("EFC") is an information resource and navigational hub within the FSFwiki. It includes a directory of significant female characters featured in SFnal works of all media, as well as biographical information about those characters.

Any female protagonist or major female character of a SFnal work may be included.

To add someone to the encyclopedia, simply create a page for the character and add the template

{{femchar}}

to the top of her page.

To add more detail, fill in the whole template form:

{{Femchar
| Names        =
| Species =
| Occupation =
| Works         =
| Image         =
| Caption       =
}}

Indexes

The Category:EFC is an alphabetical index of the contents, but without cross-references.

The List of female characters presents an alphabetical list with cross-references, pseudonyms, aliases, variant names, etc.

Characters are alphabetized by the conventions of their society, if known. For most SFnal and alternate history works that means alphabetical by family name first. If it is a made-up or unknown naming alphabetical system, then it's a judgment call: family name if it seems earthlike; first name if they're always known by first name or if it seems like family name is less important or if you can't really tell what their family name is or which to use. Cross-references are helpful. Single-name protagonists are alphabetized under their single-name. Aliases, variant names, and superhero identity names should also include cross-references.
