E. Nesbit

Edith Nesbit (1858-1924), published as E. Nesbit.
Prolific writer, political activist, and co-founder of the Fabian Society. She is best known for her children's books (particularly The Railway Children) but also wrote ghost stories and other fiction.
Names
Edith Nesbit wrote as E. Nesbit. Her married name was Edith Nesbit Bland. She also published at least one novel as "Fabian Bland", with her husband Hubert Bland. "Fabian" was likely taken from the Fabian Society, of which she was a co-founder and for which she named one of her children.
