Talk:Shelley Eriksen

Shelley Eriksen wrote, produced and/or co-wrote some of my favourite episodes of Cold Squad. (Season 6's "Survivor", and the series finale among them.) That's a kick-ass Canadian police drama set in Vancouver, which had a female lead character for its entire seven-season run (and which was imitated by the American Cold Case TV series). Unfortunately, that doesn't really count as SF, so it's probably not a suitable addition to this Wiki, unless the sheer coolness factor of Ali McCormick gets her the same kind of dispensation as Veronica Mars does. --Ide Cyan 02:29, 7 May 2007 (PDT)
- If there are no genre connections at all (like so many news people labeling VM as the new buffy, and joss doing a guest star), then i still think it's important to make references to other important non-genre stuff as appropriate. so like on the police page you could make a non-sfnal section & list this (and probably cagney & lacey is important to list too). ... and honestly we should probably have an entry that explains police procedurals and the whole police show genre on tv, because things like angel & now the tanya huff thing draw on those other genre conventions. so then that would be another good place to reference ... any way i think it's good to put other stuff in. there's a category, too, for Category:Non-SF fiction with Category:Non-SF fiction genres and Category:Works of non-SF fiction ... --LQ 06:57, 7 May 2007 (PDT)
I've created a page for police procedurals. Do mess with it as you see fit. --Ide Cyan 08:38, 7 May 2007 (PDT)
