List of Xena episodes

One of Xena's old childhood friends, Flora, is imprisoned with the rest of the young people from her village, because the local tyrant is trying to find out the identity of their freedom-fighting leader, the Black Wolf. Xena pretends to be bad to get herself thrown in prison so she can pretend to infiltrate the group.

Gabrielle meets Salmoneus, a local merchant who ends up a periodic ally and friend. (Previously seen in "The Gauntlet" and "Unchained Heart", as comic relief who was nevertheless significant in Xena's redemption.)

Intertextuality

  • Homage to "Spartacus" when everyone says they are the Black Wolf
