Retcon is the abbreviaton for "retroactive continuity" used in fandom to designate changes brought to a series that affect anterior canon.
It's also used as a verb: to retcon, meaning to retroactively change (continuity).
Trivia
In the series Torchwood (2006), there is memory-altering drug called "retcon".
