Deaths

Wiscon 30, held in Madison, Wisconsin, May 25-29. This 30th anniversary convention of the world's leading feminist science fiction convention brought back approximately 40 of the previous guests of honor. This year's guests were Kate Wilhelm and Jane Yolen. Returning guests included Ursula K. Le Guin, Suzy McKee Charnas, Samuel R. Delany, Susanna Sturgis, Avedon Carol, Delia Sherman, Ellen Kushner, Mary Doria Russell, Pat Cadigan, Pamela Sargent, Karen Joy Fowler, Pat Murphy, and many more. The convention hit its membership maximum of 1000 people for the first time.
