Formally called The Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic, the Sunburst Award is a juried award based on excellence of writing. It is presented annually to a Canadian writer with a SF novel or collection published during the previous calendar year.
The award was established in 2001, and is named after the first novel by Phyllis Gotlieb, Sunburst (1964).
