summary: The captain assigns Homicide cops including Sara & Jake to an arms deal; the arms dealer is shot; Ian Nottingham turns himself in for questioning (and tweaks Jake's homophobia as well as his potentially guilty conscience). Jake decides to join the "white bulls" and is beaten up by Nottingham, who hints to Sara that they are related -- even though he had just before sworn his love to her in a non-fraternal sort of way. In the meantime Sara has been also investigating the death of Gavin's best friend, a comic artist who was mentored by Kenneth Irons. Nottingham confirms that he knows for a fact that the death was not a suicide.
commentary: Were there any women in this episode besides Sara?
