summary + spoilers
- Sara is forced to endure a test by the Witchblade -- the periculum -- to determine her "worthiness" to wear the blade. She gets to visit with various blade-forebearers, including Jeanne d'Arc, Emily Bronte, and her Irish pre-incarnate. She is told that she is not so much a reincarnation as the same person as Emily Bronte and all the other bearers.
- Audience learns that Emily Bronte was killed by Kenneth Irons.
- Evil cop boss offers Jake membership in the "white bull" club -- a club of cops he describes as killing the guilty that got off, and taking their ill-gotten gains, and looking out for each other's wellbeing.
- At the end of the episode there's a suggestion that Sara's father was a member of the white bulls.
