Moya is a fictional character from the series Farscape. She is a living, sentient, space-faring being of the species known as Leviathans, who have the capacity to act as life-supporting spaceships for other, smaller species.

She was captured and enslaved by the Peacekeepers, and used as a prison transport, until the prisoners aboard her rebelled and escaped their captors, freeing her from her Peacekeeper control collar and allowing her to starburst. Thereafter she travelled with them as her crew, and mostly under their initiative, but still showing signs of independent volition and acting under her own initiative when she chose to do so.

She is a peaceful, benevolent, and adventurous being, without access to aggressive weapons, who uses flight as a main defensive ability, but is capable of great courage. (And also of self-sacrifice, which can be read as a gendered trait, along with Moya's concern for and devotion to her crew.) The series often used the plot device of putting Moya in jeopardy, or having Moya perform unexpected actions to advance a story, since the survival of her crew usually depended on her well-being.

Although she was first joined to him against her will, she has a symbiotic relationship with her Pilot, and, aside from rare exceptions, communicates with the rest of her crew through him. (She once spoke directly to Zhaan, under extraordinary circumstances.)

Moya has a number of DRDs (Diagnostic Repair Drones), which are small robots that she builds for self-repair.

During the first season of the show, Moya became pregnant, and gave birth to a son, whom Chiana helped to midwife. Moya asked Aeryn Sun to find a name for her child, and Aeryn chose to call him Talyn, after her father.

Moya's pregnancy was the result of Bialar Crais's attempt at artifical insemination for the purpose of bioengineering a Leviathan hybrid, and was triggered by the accidental destruction of a contraceptive shield in the episode "They've Got a Secret".

In the season 2 episode "The Way We Weren't", the crew learned of the circumstances in which the current Pilot was bonded to Moya while she was drugged by the Peacekeepers, who murdered her previous Pilot because she (the Pilot) hadn't been willing to go along with Crais's experiment. And they also learned that Aeryn was one of the PK commandos who executed that Pilot on Crais's orders.
