List of Supernatural episodes

  • The brothers have a lead on the Colt, which they have learned is in the hands of the demon Crowley. It starts out with Crowley making a deal with a banker, Mr. Pendleton, whose bank has failed (arguably, Bank of America?); the banker thought it would be a young attractive girl; Crowley (played by Mark Sheppard) tells him, "Your choice. You can cling to six decades of deep-seated homophobia, or give it up and get a complete bailout for your bank's ridiculous incompetence." Behind the scene Castiel is watching.
  • Jo helps the guys break into Crowley's house, where he hands them the Colt, and gives them a lead to the Devil in Missouri.
  • Castiel and Ellen have a drink under-the-table match. Dean comes onto Jo who turns him down in favor of self-respect. Bobby takes a group photo.
  • The group shows up in a town and Castiel sees (white, male) Reapers everywhere: They only gather together at times of Great Catastrophe, he says, forebodingly. Castiel is trapped by Lucifer in a ring of holy fire. Lucifer tries to tempt him, of course. Lucifer's human vessel (Nick) is having some trouble.
  • Demon Meg shows up, with invisible hellhounds; Jo saves Dean but is savaged by a hellhound herself. While they were making plans, Jo says you've got to be realistic; I can't make it out alive, but we can build a trap for the hellhounds and I can give you a shot at the Devil. Her mom protests; Jo says, "Mom, this might literally be your last chance to treat me like an adult. You might want to take it." Dean and Jo share a kiss fraught with longing. Ellen says, somebody's gotta let 'em in, and stays with her daughter. The only two semi-regular and heroic female characters die.
  • Sam & Dean make their way to the townspeople. Sam confronts Lucifer, while Dean shoots him in the head with the Colt. Lucifer is down for a few but then rises. "Don't feel too bad, Sam. There's only five things in all of creation that that gun can't kill, and I just happen to be one of them." Lucifer knocks Dean out and taunts Sam with some "embrace the dark side" talk, and gives more of the father/son/brother pop-psychology.
  • Lucifer raises one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Death.
