Xena cannot find Gabrielle in the Hades' land, so she travels to Siberia and the Amazon Land of the Dead to find Gabrielle's soul, and join her. While there, she confronts her past with Borias, and the wrongs that she did to the Amazons of that land, while in league with the evil shamaness Alti.
