Bryher

Bryher (1894-1983) was a novelist, poet, editor, and film critic. Although married to two different men during her young adult life, she was openly involved in lesbian relationships, most prominently with fellow writer and poet H.D. (from 1918 to H.D.'s death in 1961).

Among numerous other works, she wrote a SF novel, Visa for Avalon in 1965, about people attempting to escape from a politically repressive society to the possibly-real-or-unreal society Avalon.
