Camp

Camp is an aesthetic appreciation, often ironic, of things that are bad, poor quality, or tasteless. It is associated with queerness and queer sensibility. To the extent that camp is done deliberately, it may constitute a genre; however, camp may also refer to an audience reading of a work.

While "camp" was a long-time term in the gay community, Susan Sontag popularized it with her 1964 essay, "Notes on 'Camp'", in which she highlighted, among other things, the low-budget horror and SF films of the 1950s as camp.
