Claude Cahun (born Lucy Schwob) was a French photographer and writer. She regularly created gender-ambiguous photographs, and wrote "Heroines", a series of monologues based on contemporary women and fairy tale women. She was partnered throughout her life with Suzanne Malherbe, who used the pseudonym Marcel Moore. The two were in the surrealist movement, and during World War II, were in the French Resistance.
