Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award

The Cordwainer Smith Rediscovery Award ("The Cordwainer") is presented each year to a SF (science fiction or fantasy) writer whose work deserves renewed attention or "rediscovery". Works must "display unusual originality" and "embody the spirit of Cordwainer Smith's fiction."
The award was first presented in 2001 at WorldCon ("PhilCon") to Olaf Stapledon.

- 2004 Henry Kuttner and C. L. Moore
- 2005 Leigh Brackett
- 2006 William Hope Hodgson (presented at ReaderCon 2006)
Jurors for the first several awards were: Robert Silverberg, Gardner Dozois, John Clute, and Scott Edelman.
