Dans une galaxie près de chez vous
Dans une galaxie près de chez vous (DUG for short) is a made-in-Québec, French-language science-fiction comedy series about a group of hapless explorers searching for a new planet to colonise.
The series was aimed primarily at a youth audience, but quickly found an adult audience. It was intended as a parody of Star Trek, but it shares some similarities with the series Red Dwarf, in being a sci-fi sitcom set onboard a spaceship, and having certain characters belonging to the same type (Brad and Rimmer, for instance).
The spaceship Romano Fafard is rendered in CGI, and looks (quite literally) like it was made out of tin cans.
There was a feature film of the same title released after the series ended.
Tagline: "Là, où la main de l'homme n'a jamais mis le pied."
