Don't Bite the Sun is a 1976 novel by Tanith Lee; it was published with its sequel, Drinking Sapphire Wine, in an omnibus edition, Biting the Sun.

The unnamed (more or less) female protagonist lives in a future in which people have all that they want, and can change bodies at will. She tries to have a child by herself, by using gametes from both a female version of herself and a male version of herself.
