Frances Hodgson Burnett

Frances Hodgson Burnett was a writer best known for several of her children's novels (e.g., The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, and Little Lord Fauntleroy). Her spiritualist beliefs were incorporated into her novella, The White People.
Burnett was the name of her first husband, whom she married in 1873 and divorced in 1898. She remarried in 1900; that marriage ended in 1902.
