Grande Ourse

Grand Ourse (2004) is a francophone genre television series from Québec, produced by Radio-Canada.

It was the first fantastic series indended for adults to be made in the province, where genre material traditionally was limited to children's shows.

Grande Ourse is set in a remote village in northern Québec (called Grande Ourse), where strange events are taking place.

The creators of the series were inspired by Twin Peaks, but put a distinctly québécois twist to the setting. The constellation Ursa Major appears in the opening sequence, morphing into the show's title, and a mystical Great Bear features in the show's mythology.

A sequel entitled L'Héritière de Grande Ourse aired in 2005.
