Dr. Janice Lester is a character from "Turnabout Intruder", the series finale for Star Trek: The Original Series. She had been lovers with Kirk in Starfleet Academy, but the two drifted apart due to career pressures — particularly the pressures and sexism that Lester faced as a woman. Lester believes that the reason she was never promoted to command a starship was sexism. Over the years, this has driven her mad, and she is now murderously insane.
