Jeanne Gomoll
Jeanne Gomoll is the designer of the "SpaceBabe" icon for the James Tiptree, Jr. Award. She was nominated twice for the Hugo Award for Best Fan Artist, in 1978 and 1980.
Gomoll was joint editor, with Janice Bogstad, of Janus a feminist science fiction fanzine nominated three years running for the Hugo Award for Best Fanzine, in 1978, 1979 and 1980. She is the author of An Open Letter to Joanna Russ, an influential essay, available online and in Fanthology '87. She also authored the introduction to Helen Merrick and Tess Williams' Women of Other Worlds Excursions through SF and Feminism, 1999.
Influential in beginning the mailing list FEM-SF and in planning every WisCon. Member of the Secret Feminist Cabal. Contributor to A Women's Apa and CRapa. Publisher of The Bakery Men Don't See, nominated for a Hugo Award for Best Non-Fiction Book, and Her Smoke Rose up from Supper.
