Xena: Warrior Princess is notable for having centered not just on two female leads and their relationship, but for having shown numerous significant relationships and episodes about women. For instance, Xena's principal teachers were all women; relationships that Gabrielle and Xena had with other women were very significant; many of Xena's individual episodes featured women, and one of her longest and most central opponents was Callisto.
