List of Xena episodes

Gabrielle is visited by the ghost of Ephiny, their Amazon friend, who asks them to help her centaur son, Xenan — the last of the centaurs.

Another theme is how important is it to preserve the last member of a race, and weighing that with the other demands of the story.[1] This helped play the tension between Gabrielle and Xena and the reversal of their usual dynamic. Belach was not a good guy — he committed genocide — but he had these other ties to Xena's past, so that helped flip their dynamic.

An "enlighten-the-enemy" not "destroy-the-enemy" episode.

Intertextuality

  • "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" with a centaur instead of Sidney Poitier
  • "Romeo & Juliet" type love story
