Thoughtcrimes (2003) is a Canadian television pilot for a series that never happened, which was subsequently released on video as a stand-alone film. It was directed by Breck Eisner, and co-written by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.

It is about a young woman who, after spending years in a psychiatric institution for hearing voices, learns that she is in fact a telepath, is recruited by the National Security Agency and trained to control and use her ability to read people's minds.

Notes

  • The title is an obvious reference to George Orwell's 1984.
  • This pilot meets the the Rule's requirements during scenes between Freya and her sister, June, and a few others, although the majority of Freya's interactions are with male characters.
